Wednesday 22nd March
After
a good Tuesday night out at the Ducoch hotel, nice meal and a few drinks we
retired to the house to continue the drinking and witty conversation. Most
were in bed by 1-00am and up again for the full English.
There was a sad incident with Grahams Selection and the outcome is that I
now have a motor to fly my Mefisto (every cloud has a silver lining, thanks
Graham) Just in time as well, the weather is absolutely superb as can be seen
from the shot on the patio this morning, drink and sun in between flying the
electric and handlaunch. What more could we ask for? (some wind).
Well
as usual we end up in a different pub for lunch "The Glyn Y Weddw Arms"
in Llanbedrog and very nice it was too. In the afternoon half of the group
stayed at the house and half went to Rhiw mountain looking for that elusive
wind.
Bill Hatton entertained us by smashing his tail into the ground whilst launching
Knocking off one side of the v-tail continuing with the launch until the model
out of control hit the ground removing the other tail, he then spent some
time indoors on this superb day trying to repair the model.

Graham James had some fun at Mynydd Gilan entertaining the other
half of the group by planting his 'chuckie' on the fence he is a lazy chap,
made it easier to pick up. The wind direction changed so it was of to Rhiw
mountain but there was not much slope lift, mainly thermal activity but much
fun had by all.
Colin Hannah was talked into having a go with the Mefisto and although not
used to that sort of model, flew it well and enjoyed it immensely.
Still hoping for the Wind, perhaps tomorrow. Again!!!!!!!
