The Indoor Chuckie competition was held on January 4th at the club meeting place. As usual the event was well attended. For those of you unsure of the rules, they are very simple. Basically you have one hour to build your glider from one sheet of 1/16" balsa (it must be built on the night, no kits allowed). There are two rounds of ten slots, the first round is distance, the second round duration. To add some extra interest this year all flights had to negotiate strategically placed Christmas decorations hanging from the ceiling.
Notable Flights
John Price showed everyone how to do it, with a model design that may well
appear in LIFT.
Graham Stallard took a different approach and produced a delta. Better luck
next time Graham !!
Trevor Hornby produced a model that would not look out of place flying with
a squadron of Phantoms (it was fast, perhaps speed class next year).
A very entertaining night for all those participating or just watching (try
to have a go next year).
A big thank you to Terry Antell (C.D.) and Vic Thomas (Timekeeper) for running the event.
